Is This It
The StrokesThis was a seminal album for me. Came at a very important time in my life when I met my later-to-be wife. I’d play this all the time when she came around. We found that groove.

This is great party music. I'd heard David Lee Roth's cover of "Just a Jigalo", and I much prefer Louis Prima's version. But it's so cool to hear where that came from.
One of my favorites.
I think Al Green was about 25 when he made this album. How does someone 25 years old write and SING this shit?

This is pretty raw and nasty. It's taken me a couple of listens to get into it. I'm not familiar with the history of the albums, but this one feels early.
I had no idea. I think I'll be listening to more Bowie.
Love the jazzy nature of the guitar work. Beautiful. And his voice. Fuuug...
I say goddamn... this is bread and butter meat and potatoes gangster rap. Awesome samples, hard-hitting lyrics, nasty grooves. One of the best.

This is pretty interesting stuff. Not exactly my jam, but I can respect the songwriting and the range. Pretty cool.
There are some great tracks here.
George Michael wrote a pretty convincing John Lennon song - Praying for Time. I'd love to have heard John Lennon cover this song. I'm trying to listen to this album without prejudice. I would NEVER have listened to this even a few years ago, but I'm opening up to different stuff. Here we go. There are some complex arrangements in here for pop music. Pretty impressive. I'm never going to listen to this album again, but I can respect the skillz.
This is truly one of the greats. I remember the first time I heard it.
