Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Beatles
Rating : A+
Picks: With A Little Help From My Friends, Lucy In the Sky, Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite and of course A Day in the Life.
That last piano note of A Day in the Life, opened up so many possibilities of what could be achieved through music. So many ideas. This to me is what Ulysses means to literature. Nuff said !

The Number Of The Beast
Iron Maiden
Rating: 63% or C+
Overrated. This album has been touted as a heavy metal essential, I beg to differ.
Besides few key standout tracks, this is a bland outing. Iron Maiden to me represents at best a purely singles band.
Sad that a few killer classics are unfortunately undone in this album as a whole.
Standout tracks: Hallowed be thy Name, Children of the Damned, 22 Acacia Avenue and the guitar solo of The Prisoner.

Graceland
Paul Simon
Rating: A- or 91%
A gem of an album. So difficult to choose a single track, seamless in its world beat / afro beat soundscapes and fun filled escapades. Paul Simon's best solo work hands down.
Picks: The Boy in the Bubble, Graceland, Gumboots, Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes, Crazy.
Well almost the whole darn album.

Unknown Pleasures
Joy Division
Rating: B or 80%
Standout tracks: She's Lost Control, Wilderness, Day of the Lords, Shadowplay.
A very good sophomore effort by one of the best bands in the world. The roughness and ruggedness of this album is undoubtedly untouched and remains in a league of its own. It's disquieting soundscape is lent unshakeable and uncompromising support by Ian Curtis's apocalyptic vocals.
And one more thing, just love the cover art, straight up there with Dark Side of the Moon.
