1001 Albums Summary

I actually really like this even if I don't know if I'll listen to it again. Brutal, grungy, deeply upsetting, deeply painful to listen to -- you can feel how fucking miserable this vocalist is throughout the album. It's hard to make out the lyrics, but when I looked them up, I really liked most of it. This shit is provocative and unflinching, especially to be from the fuckin' nineties. That said, idk, I think its biggest problems involve not having hooks on a lot of the songs. I can't really remember them. That's an issue. I'd say 3/5!

'The Christian Life' has to be one of the most irritating, smug, prudish songs I've ever listened to. Jesus Christ, that was obnoxious, I can't believe I listened to it. The rest of it is fine, I guess, but that song made me kind of hate the vocalist for even deigning to perform that hacky-ass-number. Fuck this shit. 1/5 lmao

It's fine! I really liked Babylon. The rest of it is kinda... stripped synthpop folk, which isn't my thing, but I think i can see why other people love it.

Really liked it! I'd never heard of Sade before and I found some new gems.

This album is fun but holy shit it is just pure chaos! Every song has like fifty different shifts and it's wild as fuck to listen to. I'm kind of a fan, really. A lot of these sounds would've been fresh as fuck 40 years in the past. They were really forward-thinking imo.
