Amnesiac by Radiohead

Mellow. Good but nothing special. Was a really nice chill background album but after 2 hours I remember literally nothing about it. Probably a 3.

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Jul 08 2022

Very solid overall! Lot's of brilliant ideas dragged down by the shitty production, but has a few great tracks. "One" is a standout of course, and most songs have excellent guitar solos. "To Live Is To Die" is a sleeper hit. Album's a tad long, I think. Flawed, but still great.

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
Jul 09 2022

Erykah brought it back at the end with "Green Eyes". Album's too long, had some major weak points where I just didn't care, but the occassional clever lyricism and chill vibes throughout, along with the strong closer make this a worthy listen, if maybe only once.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Jul 10 2022

I think I don't get it? Maybe it was groundbreaking in 1986 but it sounds super cheesy now. They mention Whitecastle like 4 times. And the one vocalist does this falling whole tone at the end of half his sentences that's pretty grating. A couple fun tunes, interesting ideas, not the execution I'm looking for.

1989 by Taylor Swift
Jul 11 2022

Really good. Catchy and fun, mellow in spots, but I dunno, I dug it.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Jul 12 2022

Actually super good! Just a chill, positive, good time. I also knew way more songs than I thought I would.

Amnesiac by Radiohead

Mellow. Good but nothing special. Was a really nice chill background album but after 2 hours I remember literally nothing about it. Probably a 3.

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Jul 14 2022

I stopped listening partway through. Can't deny the guy has talent (clever lyrical elements, not so much the lyrical content itself), knows how to keep a beat. But the skits are AWFUL and I basically just can't handle how fucking stupid this guy sounds talking about what a bad-ass he is and how much the girls love him. It's obnoxious and there's not much going on musically in the background to save it. Easy 1/5

Ragged Glory by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Jul 15 2022

Pretty good classic rock. Nothing special but enjoyed most of it.
