Iron Maiden
Iron MaidenHonestly this is my jam. I’m not sure what it means that Iron Maiden speaks directly to my soul but - hell yes!

Weird, seems like a band I’d have heard of but I don’t think I ever have. 1978 huh? I like the keyboard parts, makes it kind of fun to have catchy riffs on top of the jangly clashy rhythms. Good fodder for an eclectic mix tape.
Just reminds me of getting beat up by my friend's uncle and his buddy. It's fine, but I'll take some of their older albums instead.
Primary association: Friends and I driving too fast on country backroads almost certainly on drugs, probably speed. As a teenager, I thought this album was great because it was loud and intense and weird as hell. Didn’t like that it was so popular though. Also the vocal parts that were spazzy and goofy felt too vulnerable. I think I felt embarrassed for the singer because he let himself be seen, by throwing in all those high notes, outside of the masculine standard of the day. Rick Rubin does amazing work though damn.
Love the vibe. This is a good album. A band I have listened to here and there over the years and always enjoyed, somehow never got super into them but glad I get to keep rediscovering them
Solid
