Lost In The Dream
The War On Drugs
I think there were some good bits -- An Ocean In Between The Waves and Red Eyes were both standouts but the rest didn't really do anything for me. Competent but boring. Production and instrumentation are good but I don't care for the vocals at all. It's not bad but I'd never intentionally listen to it again.

Music From Big Pink
The Band
Some alright old blues-y rock. The Weight is a classic and I liked the organ on Tears of Rage. The few slower songs like In a Station and Lonesome Suzie are a real slog but the rest are pretty enjoyable. I wouldn't put it on myself but most of the tracks are worth a listen and I wouldn't skip them if they came up in my normal spotify listening.

A Hard Day's Night
Beatles
A classic -- there's some absolute bangers on here but also some weaker tracks like If I Fell.

Figure 8
Elliott Smith
It's fine I guess -- there are a couple tracks that are more fun and upbeat which were alright like In the Lost and Found. Most of the instrumentals were good, I just didn't really care for the vocals or general mood. Can't Make a Sound would be an absolute banger if it didn't have some sad-sack whining all over it.

3 Years, 5 Months And 2 Days In The Life Of...
Arrested Development
Some absolute tunes -- writing this a weekend after listening so I can't recall many details but overall a fun and interesting listen.

I love the versatility from songs like the prog opus Roundabout to something like Mood for a Day which is just 3 minutes of flamenco guitar. A lot of the smaller tracks in between feel lost like they should be part of a bigger whole or should flow more cohesively between the longer songs. Five per Cent for Nothing is a very rad 35 seconds that doesn't make much sense sandwiched between South Side of the Sky and Long Distance Runaround, the latter of which is my favorite after Roundabout. Some of the longer tracks like Heart of the Sunrise can outstay there welcome but none are bad. I'd be interested in giving this a listen to on vinyl, I wonder if the way the tracks are laid out makes more sense in that format then straight through in a digital playlist.

Qui sème le vent récolte le tempo
MC Solaar
Had never heard of this but pleasantly surprised. The title track is great and reminds me of Gang Starr. Most of the tracks throughout the middle just didn't do anything for me -- I'm sure the fact that I don't understand French is a big factor there. Bouge de la - Part 1 has some interesting flows but Part 2 is over pretty much the same beat and really drags. The two closing tracks are refreshingly good though.

Unknown Pleasures
Joy Division
Oh hey, it's that album I see on shirts all the time. I feel like I should be more familiar with Joy Division, I just always thought they were the same as New Order and it turns out they don't really sound very much alike. Although most of the album is kinda boring the middle run of New Dawn Fades, She's Lost Control and Shadowplay was pretty good. The guitar on New Dawn Fades seems super familiar, I get how this is so hugely influential. Overall I'd rather listen to the music that seems heavily inspired by it like Turn on the Bright Lights.

Chemtrails Over The Country Club
Lana Del Rey
Although I quite like a lot of Lana Del Rey's discography Chemtrails Over the Country Club feels too sparse. It feels like the album is picking back up into a what I was used to with Dark But Just A Game but it's back down after that. There are some great vocal bits on Not All Who Wander Are Lost but I don't really like the chorus. Breaking Up Slowly is another standout

...Baby One More Time
Britney Spears
Not as bad as I was expecting tbf -- although maybe it's just the nostalgia because most of the singles were still pretty banging while the b-sides didn't really do anything for me. The cover of The Beat Goes On was pretty bizarre, overall it was mostly fine
