Heroes by David Bowie
Jul 10 2022
Let It Be by The Replacements
Jul 11 2022

This is such a funny album. Having a coming of age theme, with very real kind of experiences in the lyrics. I mean, who makes a song like Garys got a boner? Although this particular type of 80's punk isn't my cup of tea, you gotta appreciate how they break the "traditional" punk style.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Jul 12 2022

Quiet-Loud is definitely and interesting genre and I think it works rather well for The Pixies. Although the album feels very abrupt at times, the journey of it as a whole felt very intentional. Obviously most people would say the gem of the album is "Where is My Mind?", but I would have to say that "Gigantic" was my favorite song. Kim Deal needed more main vocals on this album I feel.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Jul 19 2022

This album is so... theatrical! I mean, the intro song alone (Suite II Overture) was straight out of a climatic build up in James Bond or something. Then the first few tracks just had me jamming and dancing in my living room. So interesting how the instrumentals of this album meld so well with Janelle's Soul/R&B voice, without the songs feeling like soul or R&B. This is was such a fun album that I had no idea about before. Janelle has always been such a unicorn to me, like I have heard of her, but never really heard her.
