Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jul 27 2022

Finally found the spot to rate old albums. Enjoyed this, in contrast to one of us, I think that the sound is amazing for 60s live. If lacking crowd mic. That is until the final two tracks which were not needed, in my view. I can see why they added them tho. And I can see why Janis struck out alone. She certainly got pipes

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow

Why have I not bought this yet?? Maybe I should check 1200s on trademe. Great drum sounds and bass lines, haven’t heard this for years, and surprisingly chill most of the time, especially when compared with the rest of the genre

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Aug 01 2022

2tracks in..If you told me this was a new louisxiv recording I’d believe you. Slick dogs and ponies was clearly influenced heavily by this track, and trex in general. I only have a greatest hits of trex, and while I let it play I don’t pop it on much, there are some great sounds in here though. I guess like meatloaf the album artwork doesn’t match the music for me. By the end I was a little bored, nice enough with the odd hit, but what feels like filler. Cherry picking tracks for me in future

GREY Area by Little Simz
Aug 02 2022

Great beats, possibly should have taken more notice of the explicit tag prior to popping it on in the living room. UKs answer to Coco Solid, with higher production values than her earlier stuff. Actually this selfish track almost could be coco. Sherbet sunset, sounds like the single. I enjoyed that, I give it a $6.99 bargain bib probability of ending up on the cd shelves. $10 if I’m feeling rich. Will let it play if Spotify replays, but maybe not if sharp eared kids are about

Blur by Blur
Aug 05 2022

So why was the blur/oasis thing even a thing? This album is fkn gold. Also how did we not know Damon albarn was gorillaz. I have a 2 disc version of this with some great bonus stuff, definitely gonna dig it out again. I recently read that when Malkmus left pavement the other guys were largely relieved cos they weren’t that good at being musicians, I wonder how the rest of blur feel post blur. Didn’t know I’d been missing this one, it’s not faith no more’s the real thing, but it’s certainly one of the greats

Diamond Life by Sade

Well the singles are the singles, there's no denying the production (gets a star) it's is as good as it gets, it worked as background while I did dishes and tidied up the living room, but didn't inspire me to do it quickly, by the end I was happy when Ozzy osbournes voice kicked in on my regular spotify stream. wouldnt listen again, but wouldnt change the station if it cam e on the radio, would prefer to wear headphones if it was playing in the supermarket
