1001 Albums Summary

We're Going To Be Friends was a nice throwback song. They've always impressed me with how much they can do with two instruments. 4/5 for the nostalgia vibes + I've never actually listened to this album all the way through until now

Shout and Shimmy (disc 4 of the 50th anniversary super deluxe album) was one of those songs that I felt like I have heard before in various movies/shows/ads/media-in-general, but I never knew what the name of the song was, or who it was by. This is the one song that has stood out to me so far. The other songs have all been just fine, but nothing else grabs my attention. Good rhythmic songs to put on in the background (while testing, or at a social if I'm not really listening to the lyrics), but wouldn't find myself coming back to listen regularly

Lots of technique. Nothing about the lyrics draws me though, in the way that Magnetic North (Derek Kan and Theresa Vu, not the other band) songs do. Kind of reminds me (a little bit) of Nujabes - Luv Sic vibes, for the lyrical flow, but not for the instrumentals.

I feel objectified listening to F.I.N.E. It's the 2nd song on the album and I feel a big yikes. Demotivated from listening to the rest of the album. Getting a laugh that Google classifies this song as "Genres: Children's Music" Janie's Got a A Gun/Water Song reminds me of Katie Pruitt - Grace Has A Gun. I like Katie's version much more. I listened to the whole album and I feel meh about it. Sounds classic, I guess.
