David BowieI loved the atmosphere of the album although not a specific track that stood out to me. Maybe the second one? More of a concept album. Definitely something I can listen to and find new things over several listens.

Very atmospheric and sonically interesting album. Like the opener more - bit of a nervous angsty energy over the darker more somber parts of the album.
Everything I expected. Frank being Frank. Luscious instrumentation, silky smooth vocals, swinging beat. Only song that's a bit, uhm, is the make whoopie track. Don't know why I have the memory of a version of "Under My Skin" where the band stops at the lyric, "stop" instead of at the end of that line.
Wow, was definitely not expecting that. It was an interesting concept and it's weird that the sitar is so culturally ingrained in my head as a "sixties" sound. Was a bit of a slough to get through though. Good album but not my thing.
I understand the importance of The Velvet Underground in music, but not something I want to listen to. It seems loud and over compressed for the sake of it. Had to push myself to finish it. Maybe it's just too artsy and I'm too basic.
So excited to get this one. Already listen to it fairly regularly and love this album and 60s Kinks in general. No Return such a beautiful little bossa nova. Harry Rag sounds almost like a sea shanty. Beautiful little snapshots of a the old guard English life that was quickly disappearing, but not delusionally nostalgic in the sense of "ah the good old days" but rather pointing out the small day to day, with it's good and bad and wondering if the societal changes would actually change everyday life very much. So much domesticity in this album which is really interesting in comparison to the "kids tell your parents to fuck off" rock of the times. This album totally makes sense for 1967 - with the return to Edwardian fashion and the likes of The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's. Wonderful album and I just love the whole feel of it. Takes me back to a place I didn't know, yet still somehow missed.
Luscious sounds but was hard getting through it. I can understand it’s importance in its time but not sure I agree with the monumental place it holds in pop music. Of course God Only Knows is the big exception. It’s timeless and an amazing feat of musicality and lyrics. Didn’t realize the Beatles’ animal sounds at the end of Good Morning, Good Morning is basically a rip off of Pet Sounds.
I'd forgotten how bluesy the Doors were, having gotten sidetracked by the big hits that tend to be a lot more psychedelic. Even so, there's elements of that in this album and love how it creates a unique and distinctive sound. Album made for road tripping for sure.
Been putting this album off for awhile. First track was exactly what I was worried about. Just not my thing. Rooster though is a pleasant surprise. Rest of the album went by ok. Nothing spectacular to report. Not something I'll likely listen to again.
