1001 Albums Summary

While his protest music is extremely poignant and skillfully written, I find Freewheelin' more versatile. I like the more absurdist, blues, and country themes he mixes into the album along with the protest songs. It seems to me like a sort of precursor to his electric stuff even before Another Side of Bob Dylan came out, and I love it for that. It's just a mellow exploration of Dylan's life and thought stream, with a bit of humor mixed in.
