1001 Albums Summary

Still holds up, absolutely stellar album overall. Such a great mix of Beatles songs, and feels somewhat nostalgic especially when listening to Octopus's Garden - my first official introduction to the Beatles, by my father. Maxwell's Silver Hammer still has the double-effect of making me creeped by the lyrics, but still enjoy the fun melody.

It was OK, but it doesn't start on a great note, so most of the best songs are on the second half of the album. A few other really nice ones besides the classic Smoke on the Water though.

Overall, very hit or miss, but I do enjoy the overall atmosphere it gives off, and the actual hits are truly good classic Coldplay.

Excellent album overall. Great mix of melodies, and not a bad song in the track list. Also, the timing of suggesting this album right after Queen Elizabeth died feels particularly ominous of the shuffling algorithm.

Not sure what to expect, but it just works. Tom Waits's gruffy voice gives the album such a particular style of music, and all the different songs showcase how it can still be used in melodic ways. Downtown Train, Time and Singapore were highlights for me. But definitely an album that calls for more listens.
