Live At The Harlem Square Club
Sam Cooke
electrifying performance, definitely one of the best live rnb albums, and albums in general, that ive ever listened to, clears live at the apollo by james brown. cooke's vocals are amazing, actually insane that they thought this wasnt good enough to release. white pipo 🤦♂️

Homework
Daft Punk
one of the most important albums ever made, its influence heard around the world, it still sounds fresh to this day, 25 years later. the textures and the shape of the music, the mastery of the synthesizer and dance music, its all so addicting — daft punk were truly so ahead of their time, they are missed. hopefully we can get a reunion tour at some point.

The Queen Is Dead
The Smiths
the cure may be the better band, but this is the best project between the two. morrissey's best vocals and songwriting coincide on this album, coming together to create a whole bigger than its parts. however, the album does lack consistency, with some of the songs not nearly reaching the highs of tracks like there is a light that never goes out or i know its over, enforcing the smiths' reputation as a singles band. also, crazy that the queen is actually dead now.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters
Fiona Apple
To be completely honest, when this album first released during the covid pandemic, i was not a fan. It was my first experience with Fiona's music, and i found her vocals and style to be quite offputting. Looking back, all i have to say is "what was i thinking?" throughout this album, fiona proves that despite the eight year hiatus, she's still one of the premier writers and vocalists in all of music. fiona shines in all aspects on this album, the production, all done in her home, is flawless, and the narrative and concept she weaves through it is masterfully crafted.

basically stereolab if they were mid. the synths, instrumentation, and production overall, were pretty interesting but the vocals and songwriting were pretty lackluster. which really brought it down for me.
