- Pleasant listen - Floats in and out - Really nice sound - Maybe too smooth? Could benefit with more grit - Good songs: How can you mend a broken heart - Bad songs: N/A - 5/10

- variety is excellent, though very much a pop rock record plays with country, folk, soft rock, baroque pop, funk and more - quality is great throughout, band sounds natural with all they try - stands out in a consistent sense throughout, memorable melodies and catchy lyrics - if anything the band loses its sound a bit in last third of the album, even if quality is strong Highlights: Chocolate cake, it's only natural, whispers and moans, four seasons in one day, there goes god 7/10

it's been said before but if sex pistols were a hardcore band they'd be much better

A thoroughly enjoyable listen which has many strengths but too safe throughout, lacking that spark that would bring it to the next level

Very pleasant first listen, great hard rock/grunge sound with dreamy textures/interludes, can see it growing to a 4 on second listen!!

Finally! I am not well-versed in hard rock, metal or really anything from the 1970s that isn't funk or jazz, so this is very much out of my comfort zone. However, I quickly settled in to this album, the keys (organ?) are spectacular, the guitar solos are always excellent. Smoke on the water is probably a weak spot, doesn't help that it was the third thing I learned to play on guitar when I was a kid and it just doesn't rock like the rest of this album! I think highway star is the peak, the battling solos are stunning, but the jam band feel on Lazy is a highlight as well. I would give this a 7/10 because I'm not comfortable with this style yet to say this is a classic, plus it does drag in places.
