Nilsson Schmilsson
Harry Nilsson
Like the The Beatles or Paul McCartney but annoying.
Best song: Early in the Morning (I dig the bluesy vibe).
Worst song: Coconut (just awful, play on repeat to make your neighbors question their sanity).

Figure 8
Elliott Smith
Another album with Beatles-eque vibe/sound. Not fan of the singer's voice mannerisms.
First two-three songs are memorable, after then everything blends together. Can't recall anything else after listening to the whole album. This could be cut short maybe even in half. Lots of songs feel like filler. Feels more like a stream of consciousness than a cohesive album.
Best song: Song of Sam (great opener)
Worst song: Bye (could be completely omitted)

Stand!
Sly & The Family Stone
Will lift your spirit 100%, though some tracks are hit or miss. Production is dated. Singles really stand out from the rest. Enjoyable but might be a difficult entry into funk.
Best song: Sing a Simple Song (The funk in this piece is unreal!)
Worst song: Sex Machine (Some parts are great, some just annoying).

At Mister Kelly's
Sarah Vaughan
Even though the album is fairly short, all tracks blend into one. Not too many standing out ones besides first few. I'm definitely not a jazz-head much... Still have to admit the production/quality of the album is stellar!
Rating: 2.5 (Neutral) Wouldn't mind listening to this album in the background while sitting in a cafe.
Best song: Willow Weep For Me (Some parts of this song reminded me of one of Bjork's songs. Beautiful piano work)
Worst song: How High The Moon (High notes of the singer's voice were unpleasant to listen to).

Jagged Little Pill
Alanis Morissette
Absolutely miserable experience. Lyrics and vocals are annoying, over-the-top making this album a chore to listen to. If you never liked listening to 'Ironic' then skip this one.
Best song: Right Through You (the least irritating song, very radio-friendly)
Worst song: You Oughta Know (someone was very salty about their ex)

Natty Dread
Bob Marley & The Wailers
Very pleasant, chill listening experience. Still I'm a bigger fan of Kaya and Uprising than this album. I like bluesy vibes on some tracks. Recommended for everyone who wants to wind down.
Best song: Rebel Music (Fantastic harmonica and organs in the background)
Worst song: Bend Down Low (Leas interesting melody for me personally)

The Downward Spiral
Nine Inch Nails
Listen to this if you want to make your life feel more miserable. Lyrics are deep as a puddle. Vocals...just irritating.
Not recommended for people in a bad mental state. And ones who appreciate their ears.
If you want good electronic music with darker undertones, listen to Depeche Mode. As for depressive industrial music (but less annoying), check out Swans.
Best song: Piggy (least annoying one personally, the trip-hop vibe is also not so bad)
Worst song: Heresy (screaming made my headache worse)

The Isley Brothers
Bumping it up from 2.5 to 3 for Summer Breeze only. It's perfectly okay-ish album with good instrumentals and fairly neutral vocals (nothing too annoying).
Pleasant but not very memorable. This is probably a good album for sampling though. Might be also good for background music.
Best song: Summer Breeze (Great piano and guitar work, most memorable song on the album personally)
Worst song: The Highways of my Life (For being a weak closing song. Winds up for too long. Album could end just with Summer Breeze).

...Baby One More Time
Britney Spears
Skip this unless you've been already a fan of Britney or you like sugary pop. Otherwise it'll melt your teeth (and ears). Songs from this album made me wince back then in 90s and they still do.
Best song: The Beat Goes On (the only song that has something going on, trip-hop vibe; shame the lyrics are atrocious)
Worst song: Born to Make You Happy (key change feels like "nails on a chalkboard"-bad)

Another album I'd pick as background music. Besides 3-4 tracks not too many bangers. The beats are solid though.

If You're Feeling Sinister
Belle & Sebastian
Another miserable and painful experience. The vocalist sounds like he's about to die, which one of the tracks kind of confirms that (Get Me Away from Here, I'm Dying, where ironically his voice has the most energy). Besides good production there's scarce value here.
Best song: Like Dylan in the Movies (thanks to supporting voices and passable guitar it's the most bearable song)
Worst song: Judy and the Dream of Horses (chorus is awful)

Shaft
Isaac Hayes
Rating: 2.5
Without watching the movie it might be a less enjoyable experience. It's a fine album but besides the main theme and (tracks with vocals in general) nothing really stands out on each own. This could be a good background music though it already sounds very dated.
Best song: Soulville (Really good soul/bluesy song, with meaningful lyrics and great backing trumpet)
Worst song: Walk from Regio's (repeating sounds are irritating, unpleasant)

Shuggie Otis
Totally devoid of any energy. Made me feel more tired after listening to this, than before starting. Listen to this album if you want to lull yourself to sleep. Starts promising then half of the album transforms into elevator music. Also I find Strawberry Letter 23 to be delivered better by The Brothers Johnson band.
Best song: Inspiration Information (The only song that vaguely sounds interesting)
Worst song: XL-30 (Dollar-store Tangerine Dream)

Arc Of A Diver
Steve Winwood
Sounds like Phil Collins but actually boring. Avoid if you don't like 80s cheese.
Best song: Arc of a Diver (Good chorus, still feels like a demo from Phil)
Worst song: Second-Hand Woman (Terrible execution and abysmal lyrics)

Adele
Rating: 2.5
Very radio-friendly, over-produced and safe pop album. Nothing too bad but nothing good about it either. Vocals can get overwhelming at times. Few tracks are quite catchy though. Not fan of the lyrics. Get over this asshole Adele already!
Best track: He Won't Go (good intrumentals, nice bluesy-soulsy vibe)
Worst track: Someone Like You (rightfully turned into a meme song, can't stand the vocals)

Speakerboxxx/The Love Below
OutKast
Definition of annoying. Looney Tunes melodies with Chip n' Dale vocals mixed with gangsta rap. There are few bangers but 90% of the album is hard to stomach. Lots of interludes which bring really nothing and filler tracks that could be put in B-sides. Zero cohesion between the tracks, at least musically. Also, "Hey Ya!" is overrated.
Best song: Reset (great beat, plus there's Cee-Lo on it)
Worst song: Vibrate (everything about this is annoying, plus it lasts over 6 minutes for whatever reason)

Tres Hombres
ZZ Top
Rating: 2.5/5
Good guitar work but the vocalist sounds like he has a potato stuck in his throat and tries to cough it up. There are few tracks that stand out on their own. Rest of the album is pretty much forgettable. Listen to this if you need some truckin' music to ride to.
Best song: La Grange (Road trip classic, love the rhythm)
Worst song: Hot, Blue and Righteous (Slow ballad, hard to stomach after 1 minute)
