1001 Albums Summary

A solid 3/5 indie rock album for me! I liked the mix of folk and rock influences on it, but it seemed to keep leaving me hanging. The song structures sometimes droned on with little to no change, and the vocals didn't really drive like I would've preferred. I felt like I was left without a guide. However, I still think it has a lot of value and I absolutely understand why others really like it! In summary: pleasant and unoffensive, but not incredibly challenging or distinguishable. This isn't inherently bad, though!

3/5, an incredibly mixed album for me. I really liked Sorted for E's and Whizz, Something Changed, Bar Italia, and Disco 2000, but the rest of the album wasn't my thing. I don't think I'm a fan of the synth sounds of the era, and the lead singer was WAYYYY too horny for an entirely comfortable listen.

4/5 - Born To Run is undeniably a classic! I especially admire how the album can stay consistent without the songs all sounding the same - each one brings something different and something memorable. My favorite song was Born To Run, but my favorite song that I hadn't heard before was Jungleland. Great stuff!!

Super artsy and unique! I'd love to say that I was into it and understood it, but it just wasn't really something that appealed to me on my first listen through. Maybe it's just one of those things that takes a lot of time to truly appreciate, kinda like Connan Mockasin for me.

very funky, fun album with some genuinely great songs! A lot of jazz influence as well. My only gripe is how long some of the songs stretched on for - I feel like they didn't retain my attention super well, but maybe that's just me.
