Personally wouldn’t listen to this but it slapped pretty hard for the gym. The stars are because I appreciate the production value and the cultural significance of the album, plus the breakbeats were a nice surprise. Gets a bit angsty towards the end though

I’m now paying child support to 4 women purely because of this album. Packed full of bangers, back to back sexy tunes. 10/10
To me Fela Kuti is one of the greatest artists of all time so I went at this with high expectations, even though I’ve heard one of the songs before it still surpassed them. I love afrobeat/jazz/funk, it’s arguably my favourite genre. Some of the best djs I know drop these tracks in the middle of a house set and it’s incredible. I’m gonna listen to this album another 4 times this week at least
Not something I’d go out my way to listen to by any means but it did evoke feeling like I was in nature, which I felt like they were going for. Would be great to listen to while camping or something. But also gives me Tory white girl summer vibes. No song stood out except the one that was all over the radio at some point (white winter hymnal?), some lovely ambient moments but overall the lack of dynamics and instruments just blended into one sound. I found myself looking forward to it ending. 3/5
Really enjoyed this one, never heard of Buffalo Springfield before but I’m gonna keep listening to them after this. Love the old school jazzy rock vibes, very cool.
Really enjoyed this, crazy how well this album hasn’t aged though. Ice T’s conscious rap vibe is sick though, really enjoyed it as a throwback. Really puts into perspective how much hip hop has changed over the last 20 years.
