1001 Albums Summary

Some real bangers in here. Back half of the album falls off hard.

Ultimate Dad rock. Some absolute classics interspersed with a few songs I didn't care for at all.

Relaxing vibes, but ultimately not to my taste. The lyrics on some of these songs have aged weird. I do like the cat in the album art. That cat is great.

There's some great songs on this album, but the pervasive misogyny made this difficult to get through. This isn't the casual sexism that you get in a lot of other media; this album *hates* women with several songs that amount to little more than screeds against "bitches." It's a tragedy, because this is otherwise an album about a group of people who feel like media (and life in general) is not made for them, and they're rightly angry about it. But then they turn around and do the same thing to another group of people. A historically very important album, which I'm glad I listened to, but holy shit.

\"Me and Julio\" is a delightful little nonsense song. The rest of the album is chill and pleasant to listen to.

I love the flex of naming this album "Birth of the Cool," but it earned the title. I'm not really into jazz, but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this.

I hated this album. I'm sure it has good qualities, but not for me.

I've heard most of these songs countless times growing up. Most hold up really well, but some of these songs are or weirdly possessive or needy. Like, "Dude, get over her already. She gave you her answer. Move on."
