1001 Albums Summary

very really good. haven't listened to classic rock in a very long time so i was going in with medium high expectations. one of the things i really love about this album is that it's lowk ahead of its time, but it still has that early 70s late 60s classic rock sounds. i also think that this is a very cohesive album that sticks to its theme and communicates a well written story. the way the track flow together and connect gives me immeasurable joy. the vocals are this album are great as well. i mean the great gig in the sky is on here soooo. but even on other tracks besides that one, the vocals push the song further and idk add on to it in a good way. sonically, this album is fucking amazing. i think even if you're not into classic rock, its hard to hate this album. anyone who gives this album less than a 7.5/10 is out of their mind and just wants to be different so bad. or they don't understand music and the impact pink floyd has had on the world and a shit ton of artists. 5/5 can understand why it's a classic. has some strange warmth to it.

this album was actually a very enjoyable listen. i was expecting an r&b album, and while i feel like this is far from that, it still incapsulated many other genres. For example, you could hear folk pop and little jazz fusion in majority of the songs. when i hear the words jazz fusion my mind goes straight to when the pawn" by fiona apple. however this is different compared to that album. especially in the pacing. come away with me has a lot of slow love songs with good lyricism. when i first listened to the album, i felt like some of the songs sounds very similar and kinda were forgetful. however, i think that the b side of this album lowkey carries. some of my favorite tracks were "feelin the same way", "lonestar", "i've got to see you again" (might be my fav), and "painter song". other songs that stood out to be were one flight dream and the long day is over. the song "the long day is over" resonated with me because its daylight savings and im constantly tired but i have sm work to do and no time to actually do it. overall, i think i would give this album 4 stars. im honestly between giving it 3.5 but the best songs on this album are very strong and good so i think that it deserves 4 stars. will def be listening to this numerous times in the future.
