Elephant Mountain by The Youngbloods
Mar 22 2023

Well played, as if musicians had taken control of artistic developments in popular music in the late 60s rather than those more in touch with the various zeitgeisten swimming around at the time. Great jamming tips for band musicians.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Apr 06 2023

This is a LOT of album, and I'm not quite interested enough to playlist a shorter one. Brilliantly played with comically strange and horny lyrics. Flea tones it down to great effect. Love the bashy drum bit.

Talking Book by Stevie Wonder
Apr 11 2023

A Stevie misfire is still a 4; a few brilliant tunes but a fair amount of what strikes me as filler. I prefer his first "adult" album, Music of my Mind, and the few following. It does have Superstition, though. My favourite version is the one he did on Sesame Street.

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Apr 18 2023

Reminded me of Tru Love and High Adventure at first, then dropped quickly into rentaElbow territory before becoming easy to live with once I zoned out of actively listening.

Bummed by Happy Mondays
Apr 20 2023

Gonna need to hear this again to see if I can get beyond my first impression of postparty swampcore

The Predator by Ice Cube
Apr 21 2023

This sounds like it was the business back in the day and still does. This guy is the real total business.
