It’s in the same category as anything equally “haphazard lovely melancholic” it’s certainly not bad, thoughtful at times but just as bland as the best whiny rockstars. Again, lovely, just truly lovely, but not for me. Substance, the thing past your most basic white-privileged emotions, are needed. Some wildly creative takes on tales of boring, vanilla emotions but they are, at best, transitional music for the most pop-loving lads and gals. Very much produced to the masses, not remotely the Radiohead-vibe they prob wish they were. But that’s alright, if it’s a basic day then this album is for you. Coldplay isn’t for those who feel deep and want to explore the dark, I wish them well. 🫡
