This album is a masterpiece of thrash metal and most likely edges out "And Justice for All" as my favorite Metallica album. The overall tone is dark and ominous that successfully mixes in-your-face thrash with melodic instrumentation to give the album a generally complex sound.
Favorite Song - Orion, Master of Puppets, Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
Least Favorite Song - The Thing That Should Not Be
This song was very monotonous apart from the solo
No Skip Album? - No, I could see myself skipping "The Thing That Should Not Be"
I liked this album but it is not my favorite Bob Marley album, that goes to Exodus. I can't say that there were any bad songs on the album but apart from "No Woman, No Cry" none really stood out to me as being excellent. The mastering was done very well (particularly on So Jah Seh) and the guitar tone was phenomenal throughout.
Favorite Song - No Woman, No Cry
Least Favorite Song - Bend Down Low (it sounds too much like a kid's song)
No Skip Album? - Yes
This album is unbelievable. I don't know how this album flew under my radar for so long as I previously considered "The Bends" and "OK Computer" the essential listens of Radiohead. Overall this album feels much more raw and cohesive than the aforementioned albums. This is, in my opinion, their best work. The haunting electronic sound perfectly complements the dark and nightmarish lyrics and vocal delivery from Thom Yorke. The orchestration in Motion Picture Soundtrack is gorgeous and captivating.
Favorite Song - How to Disappear Completely, Kid A
Least Favorite Song - Idioteque
I don't dislike this song at all but if I HAD to pick one that I enjoyed less than others it would be this one. I still enjoyed the hell out of it
No Skip Album? - Yes
I've never really given James Brown a listen other than his biggest commercial hits but I totally get how he gets his nicknames. This is one of the better live albums I've listened to. The band is unbelievably tight and clean and James Brown is a powerhouse.
Favorite Song - Try Me
Least Favorite Song - Lost Someone
One of the reasons I am not super into live albums is the crowd and this song had a lot of crowd work towards the end that dragged on a little but the transition into the medley is great.
No Skip Album? - Yes
Wow. I love Miles Davis but I never really got to listen to his electronic era until now. This album blew me away. To me this is Kind of Blue with a fusion twist while still maintaining the essence of what kind of blue is. I am in love with this album. This makes me want to listen to Bitches Brew now.
Favorite Song - I think I preferred the first half more
Least Favorite Song - none, I felt like both songs are one large song
No Skip Album? - Yes
This is the second Beck album I've listened to, the other one being Sea Change. I found this one to be much less my style. I liked his less industrial, more mellow songs on this album. I found the album to get better towards the later tracks. Overall I enjoyed it but I wouldn't say I'd listen to it all the way through again.
Favorite Song - Missing, Broken Drum
Least Favorite Song - E-Pro, Que Onda Guero
These songs being back to back almost made me stop listening to the album. I just couldn't stand the industrial sound in "E-Pro" and the random Spanish dialogue in "Que Onda Guero" got really annoying after a while.
No Skip Album? - No
As much as I love Paul McCartney's songs in the Beatles I am not as in love with his solo stuff. This album has some high highs which is why I am giving it a 3/5 but I just really can't get into the Linda McCartney stuff in here.
Favorite Song - Band on the Run, Jet
Least Favorite Song - Bluebird
No Skip Album? - No
The songwriting on this album is fantastic and I would consider this to be one of those albums where Bob Dylan is at his best. The only knock I can give it is the instrumentation is not very cohesive/polished at times, but maybe that is intentional.
Favorite Song - Shelter From the Storm
Least Favorite Song - Meet Me in the Morning
No Skip Album? - Yes
