Punk lyrics sprinkled over various genres including reggae, rockabilly, blues, glam, and more. Can’t say I’m personally a huge fan of the album as it doesn’t really tickle my fancy sonically, but it’s easy to tell The Clash was definitely on to something interesting here. Favorites: London Calling, Lost in the Supermarket, Clampdown, Train in Vain (Stand by Me) Least favorites: I would say Death or Glory but the lyrics are really good so none.
Filled with rock-country classics. The opening track has great danceability, a nice winding rhythm, intelligent lyrics, and a pleasant sounding banjo to boot. Other noteworthy tracks include “Peaceful Easy Feeling” with its mellow folk country feels and “Most of Us Are Sad” which is one of the most underrated Eagles songs. Favorites: Most of Us Are Sad, Take it Easy, Peaceful Easy Feeling, Chug All Night Least Favorites: Trains Leaves Here This Morning
If you gave me 2 hours, I could recreate any single track from this album. In fact, if you gave me a week, I could probably recreate this whole album. And I’ve never played an instrument. And guess what? That’s exactly how long it took The Ramones to produce this album. It amazes me how much of this album I hear in modern-day punk bands, as if the members of the genre never learned different drum patterns exist or bothered to explore the genre beyond its barebones roots. Having said that, I don’t necessarily think this album is unlistenable, it’s just flavorless. Every song sounds so similar that none stood out except for the opening track because I’ve heard it through radio play countless times. The every song on the record opens with the same basic premise and most have that same simplistic backing drum track. I guess you can say that all have different lyrics but none really resonated with me to the point where I could identify it as a different track from the last. In a recent review of the new Burger King Italian Chicken Sandwich, food critic ReviewBrah said this “All the ingredients are here, so I don’t understand how it can be possible for this to just taste like nothing. And be as dry as it is.” Maybe I just hate punk tho. Favorites: Blitzkieg Bop Least Favorites: The rest
Very energetic, incorporating funk sound’s combined with African + Brazilian instruments and musical styles. Best album on this list so far and still lives up as fun and entertaining listen in 2023. Favorites: All Least Favorites: none son
nice background music for toxic girls. nothing wrong sonically noting really stood out except the opening track and stupid girls One could say this album is ‘garbage.’
