Live album - recorded in July of 1960, released in November of 1960. Muddy Waters (McKinley Morganfield) was a Chicago Blues Musician. He was born 1913, and died 1983 at age 70. The album opens with a lot of energy - the first three tracks have a wonderful, bouncy, bluesy energy to them. By the time "Soon Forgotten" comes around, we are slowing down to a swing level melody. What a soulful track - it's hard to put into words; there is a pain trying to break through on this one. The album picks right back up once the track ends. The album keeps the party going until we find ourselves within the somber halls of "Goodbye Newport Blues." This was a favorite of mine, as I love slow and somber tunes. At this point, I realize there is no critique of this album: it's timeless, and provides a soundscape that is nostalgic of a time long since passed.
