1001 Albums Summary

i used to think that bands like iron maiden (read: old edgy rock bands) made music that was all screamo-y and un-musical. but after listening to this i've realized that the music they make is like... beautiful. the guitar riffs are so clean (idk if it's because i'm listening to the remaster) and every aspect of the song feels like it was placed perfectly. it's a bit different from the 'earwormy' music that i'm used to post 2000's post tiktok so idk if a specific song called out to me but this is definitely something i would listen to again. 4.5/5

i really like this album...... i think it's a common joke for people to troll green day fans but like.... gahhhh this is really good. i love the energy. that 4-song run from longview -> welcome to paradise -> pulling teeth -> basket case is sooo good. (on first listen) genuinely fun-sounding music and enjoyable. i can't remember the last time i was so obsessed with an album because i've literally been listening to it on repeat for the past 24 hours. i don't want to keep rating everything 5 because i don't want the exclusive 5 to lose its 의미 but this seriously deserved it. 5/5

not to say i am a blind adherent to parasocial relationships but i have not thought fondly of beck since the 2015 grammys. therefore i was somewhat reluctant to listen to this when it popped up. after listening to it i can say that yes, it's not exactly a music genre/vibe i would gravitate towards, but he is definitely talented and it shows. beautiful music and beautiful execution. album highlight: lost cause. rating it a bit lower just because it's not my cup of tea but remember a 2.5/5 is actually a completely neutral rating! 2.5/5

good music... a little slow for my liking but i've always liked funk because it's so vibrant and lively, even when it is slow. honestly it's not too rambunctious or so crazy enough to leave a larger impression. i had a :O moment near the end when i realized they covered 'the first time ever i saw your face' on you-know-what. solid everywhere 3/5

not really my vibe because the sound mixing is kind of ... quiet? i don't know, it's kind of like a never-ending song for each song. album highlight: tearz. otherwise it's like definitely good music but each song blends into the next and i don't think i have the excitement or attention span to pay attention to it. 2/5 due to personal taste and low attention span.

off of pure vibes - 3/5. wish i was more cognizant about listening to it but now that school has started up again i've been more busy. will listen again though - i think it really piqued my interest. i like the overall sound of this band.

kind of a boring album but i think it's probably just because i dont have enough emotional depth to care about the topics in the way theyre presented to me. it's weird to hear these kinds of topics sung about in his voice with these instrumentals. i think this guy is the one who sang halleleujah but i can't be sure... 2/5
