Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Aug 17 2023

3.8 out of 5 stars. It's got a nice mix of soul and funk. The harmonies are smooth, but some tracks felt a bit similar to each other. Enjoyed it overall, but was hoping for a few more standout songs

From Elvis In Memphis by Elvis Presley
Aug 18 2023

Was pleasantly surprised to find so many Elvis tracks I hadn't heard before. I knew and loved 'In the Ghetto' and 'Suspicious Minds', but the rest of the album has that classic, old Hollywood charm. It's a calm listen, but the big hits are still the ones that stick with you the most.

American Idiot by Green Day
Aug 21 2023

I must sheepishly admit that I never listened to this album in its entirety, even during its peak when I was younger. While I've found select favourites within the punk rock/pop genre – with tracks from bands like The Offspring, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, and Fall Out Boy resonating with me – I'm admittedly quite picky. Green Day has always been a more mixed bag for me. Nevertheless, of all the tracks on this album, 'Holiday / Boulevard of Broken Dreams' stands out as my favourite. But I'm also not likely to revisit it anytime soon.

Homework by Daft Punk
Aug 22 2023

Rating 'Homework' by Daft Punk isn't easy. I see its artistry, but it doesn't quite hit the mark for me. I gravitate more toward their recent pop-influenced collaborations. I'm giving it a 1 β€” not because it's bad, just not my cup of tea!

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Aug 23 2023

Not really a nu-metal aficionado, but Linkin Park dominated my angsty teen soundtrack! While I personally prefer 'Meteora', there's no denying the catchiness of tracks like 'Crawling' and 'In the End' from this album. It's a nostalgic 2/5β€”less for a full-on marathon listen, and more for those once-in-a-while head-banging moments. 🀘🎸

Aug 25 2023

"Something Else by the Kinks" is solid. Brit Pop-Rock isn't usually my go-to, but "Waterloo Sunset" definitely stood out. Overall, it's a quality album, but it doesn't quite hit replay for me β€” 2/5.

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Aug 28 2023

"Jazz Samba" by Stan Getz is a bossa nova gem that's both uplifting and relaxing. Charlie Byrd's guitar perfectly captures the feel-good jazz and Brazilian vibes. Dive into the '60s bossa nova wave with this one! Highly recommended.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Aug 29 2023

Bayou Country by CCR delivers that unmistakable southern sound. 'Proud Mary' is a timeless standout, and while not every track hits the same high note, the album's charm is undeniable. 🐊🎢 Rating: 4/5

The New Tango by Astor Piazzolla
Aug 30 2023

Astor Piazzolla's 'The New Tango' is like a modern twist on an old dance – kinda cool, but a bit too edgy for my vibe. While the fusion of jazz and classic tango is interesting, it's just not my jam. 🎡 1/5

I See You by The xx
Aug 31 2023

'I Dare You' and 'Say Something Loving' caught my ear, but the rest felt hit or miss. A (high!) 2/5 for me.

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Sep 01 2023

I gave "G. Love And Special Sauce" a spin, but it just wasn't my jam. The tracks blurred together a bit too much for my taste. Probably won't revisit.
