At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Sep 04 2023

Rating - STRONG 5 Best Song - Jackson (8/10) Worst Song - Dirty Old Egg Suckin' Dog (3/10) Thoughts: Very creative concept to speak from the perspectives of different prisoners and how they are feel in different scenarios surrounding prison. Detours on the album from this topic were not required and slightly ruined the album experience. Overall, it is an OK to GOOD album that has its high points but some low points which made it so that the album loses its already low cohesion.

Tonight's The Night by Neil Young
Sep 05 2023

Rating - STRONG 6 Best Song - Albuquerque (10/10) Worst Song - Borrowed Tune (5/10) Thoughts: Incredible production throughout the entire album with some excellent guitar solos laced in parts of this album along some thoughtful writing from Neil Young on songs such as 'Speakin' Out' and 'Lookout Joe'. The production on 'Albuquerque' was easily the highlight of the album and even though I have a distaste for most harmonica music, this album, for the most part, executed those sounds beautifully. This is a GOOD album filled with luscious production from David Briggs and Tim Mulligan and it will be a very welcome introduction into rock music for anyone looking to get into the genre.

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Sep 06 2023

Rating - STRONG 7 Best Song - The Frayed Ends of Sanity (10/10) Worst Song - Harvester of Sorrow (6/10) Thoughts: Immaculate instrumentals from Lars Ulreich on the drums and special shoutout to Kirk Hammett for the incredible guitar solos laced throughout the project. The topic of justice was portrayed very well in almost every song, whether it be politically or via other angles such as 'Dyers Eve' where James Hetfield talks about gaining justice over his parents for his closed-off upbringing. Even though every song was over 5 minutes long, reaching up to 9 minutes in some instances, no song overstayed its welcome, other than maybe 'Harvester of Sorrow', which is an impeccable feat in itself. This is a GREAT album with flawless production from front to back packed with songs that speak out for justice through different means, making my introduction into metal music a very welcome one.
