1001 Albums Summary

Opener was kinda eh tbh was not expecting to love this album as much as I did. But as soon as I got to the second track “My Best Friend’s Girl” I knew this was gonna be good. I’m such a slut for a good guitar solo and “You’re All I’ve Got Tonight” scratches that brain itch so fucking good. And when all these songs kept smoothly transitioning into one after another like AHHHH I was literally gonna combust. “All Mixed Up” is such a perfect closer for the album too. Nah cause why had I never heard this album before, it’s so fucking gooddddd. Such a banger to start this project off.

The intro to the opener “Starlings” omg immediate chills. The instrumental to this whole song is phenomenal, banger opener. Hello the harmonies in “The Bones of You”?!?! Damn chills for this song too. “Grounds for Divorce” ok left turn on song style. I am eating upppp this album so far. Omg another left turn with “An Audience With the Pope” HELLO? Omg I’ve been trying to figure out why I’ve been eating up this album like for breakfast lunch and dinner and I think it’s because they sort of sound like Arctic Monkeys. And I loveeeeee the Arctic Monkeys. “The Fix” is giving A Series of Unfortunate Events vibes and I’m so here for it. Stop because “One Day Like This” is so cutie I’m living. I think “One Day Like This” would have been a better closer than “Friend of Ours” but idk maybe there’s some stylistic value or deeper metaphor that I didn’t get or pick up on that makes this a banger closer. Overall in a constant state of chills the whole album I fucking loved it.

I will admit that before even listening to this album that I am not super fond of Bruce Springsteen. The instrumental to his songs are nice but his voice, idk there’s something about it. “bruce springsteen can’t even sing good fr he’s just a good musician” - alex smith is the realest statement ever about this man. Ok “Candy’s Room” isn’t that bad. Like she’s tolerable. His voice and the song vibe are matching unlike a lot of his other songs. He’s giving country singer went rock and bad. “Prove It All Night” is fun, I like. “Darkness on the Edge of Town” is nice, a very good closer. Hoping and praying this is the only Bruce Springsteen album on this list please and thank you.

My boy Jimi always coming through with the brain scratching music. HOLY SHIT “EXP” THAT MOVES THROUGH MY BRAIN SO GOOD OMG. That guitar in “Spanish Castle Magic” damnnnn. I really liked “Little Wing”. Help “If 6 Were 9” was so left ear heavy, lowkey this whole album has been. I feel like I’m being overstimulated by this album. It’s good asf don’t get me wrong but my brain has been scratched enough like I don’t need anymore. “She’s So Fine” and “One Rainy Wish” like tickles my brain yk. Oooooo the guitar in “Bold As Love” is really really nice.

Only one track in and I’m already lovingggg this little folk vibe we have going on. This little yeehaw music I can handle like it’s giving my deep new americana shit and it’s slaying. “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” is really nice. His style and voice are very reminiscent of another artist I really enjoy but I can’t figure out their nameeee. “If You See Her, Say Hello” is so sad hello. Wait because I love “Buckets of Rain”. W albummmm.
