Easy listening, makes for good breakfast/dinner music at home.
Not really my kind of genre, but sounds ahead of its time. Could have been released 10-20 years ago and I would not have been surprised. Great acoustic guitar playing, voice is okay. Maybe if put into regular rotation, the songs and his voice will grow on me.
Knew the mainstream tunes (Ms. Jackson, So Fresh So Clean, B.O.B.), but never really listened to the rest of the album before. Having said that, was captured by the diversity of each song, and surprisingly enjoyed the skits between songs and the "BREAK" at the end of each song/skit. Well paced album. Would consider it Outkast's 'Magnum Opus'.
Great talent; a lot of soul and emotion in his voice. Outside of the title song, the rest of the songs are pretty forgettable IMO.
As a previous reviewer put it best, "Like hockey and baseball on the same field at the same time." Interesting attempt I guess but Metallica and the SFS had no reason performing together, and the end result shows that.
Classic 50's record - won't blow you away, but it is a fun, easy listening experience.
