Rio by Duran Duran

The standout tracks are Hold Back The Rain, Hungry Like The Wolf and Save A Prayer. Outros and bridges on the album can be better and more imaginative. Lyrics make little to no sense sometimes. The energy which the album pursues is felt throughout the album. It feels like a calming, summer album. It has a few pop rock tracks in it. The singing isn't too demanding but it does what it is set out to do.

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse

There is no denying that she is a great singer. Her lyrics are creative and straightfoward. The song topics vary. I'm not into this type of music sadly. The style of singing is too slow for me, the music isn't very catchy and instrumental of Wake Up Alone sould like something I heard a million times in other romantic slow songs. She brought soul back and brought the feeling of nostalgia back while giving us classic hits. I respect it. It's just not for me.

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
Sep 25 2023

It's too slow which makes it boring. The lyrics are sometimes charming but are constantly followed by some weird sounds. Boogie On Reggae Woman is the most annoying song I have heard in a while. It's so bad.His pronounciation is horrible on purpose and I don't like the harmonicas throughout the album. It's badly sung. Smile Please had some potential to be okay but that chorus is awful with the "bom aaaaa" sound all the time. Heaven Is A 10 Zillion Light Years Away is probably the best song and it is okay. You Haven't Done Nothing and It Ain't No Use are ok as well. "Bye bye" part in It Ain't No Use is too repetitive and could be sung better. He can write some interesting and nice lyrics though. It might have been better if you read the album instead of listening to it. All in all the album has a lot of elements that I don't enjoy such as instrumentation choice. It definately could use some better singing, especially the backing vocals and better writing in choruses. Maybe it was groundbreaking for it's time but it's very poor now.

Zombie by Fela Kuti

I don't like the trumpet sound and his songs sound boring to me. The trumpet is supposed to entertain me until the vocals come in but instead it's one dimensional and feels more like a music for some cultural festival rather than a song I would put on and let play for 10 minutes. He's an ok singer I wouldn't say he showcases some special level of singing skill as well in his songs. The worst album so far. Feels disconnected. If I could go lower I would.

1st song is follows the theme well throughout the song, has a futuristic feel but it needs more distinction between who is talking since the singer is playing all characters in the song and it too seamless sometimes. There is no need for a 20 minute song seriously who tf would listen to it? The lyrics on Something for nothing are very well written and are motivational while also giving you a reality check. The riffs are fine to great the rest of the album is vastly different to the 1st track and is more accessible and cohesive. Not too memorable but has some things to that will entertain you and make you think. Especially the 5 songs other than the 1st.
