Please, I don't like reviews. 3 for everyone!
A classic. Some songs are overproduced, some other are just perfect. (I don't like ratings, I give a 3 to everyone)
Made me feel like a teenager again. (I don't like ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
Cool (I don't like numeric ratings. I just give 3 to anyone.)
Can't understand those who didn't have fun with this. Maybe I would've enjoyed even more with some funny substances but that's OK. (I don't like giving numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
I'm getting a little bored with this site. Some picks aren't even good albums but compilations of good artists. Some others are just very popular albums that aged poorly. I think this is just the case. (I don't like numeric ratings, I give 3 to anyone)
This is a banger, finally something fun.
Smooth and cool enough, I got the impression that the songs should have ended at least a minute earlier. (Giving 3 to anybody, I don't like numeric ratings)
Sounds like background music for a lounge bar, but the coolest and most well-produced one that you can listen. It would probably change my evening for the better, so I approve it. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
This is the first great TH album. In particular, this stands out for its versatility and quirkiness, while remaining a great piece of art. "Remain in light" is better, tho, but many bands wish they released an album like this. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
The three-album strike that began with this one is just pure bliss. Intimate, melodic and joyful. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
It takes a lot of effort to mix an album this badly. Normally my PC volume stays around 30 and 40, I needed to pump up a solid 60 to listen decently to it. Anyway, it's the right amount of fun and gloomy at the same time. Their first album fits more my music taste, it indulges a bit more on the gloomy side without resulting too goofy. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to ALMOST anyone)
Ten years ago I was 18 years old. This album was my Holy Bible. The wittiness and earnestness of the lyrics and the sharpness of the instrumentation made it unparalleled with anything of that era. It transcended the status of "music" and became "lifestyle". Ten years have passed and I don't think this is a perfect album anymore. Not a particular fan of the last song, also it lacks a precise direction within the tracklist. Some of songs though are rightly regarded as classics, my favourite being "I know it's over". Overall it's a must listen. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to ALMOST anyone. This is probably one of the few cases on which I'll break this rule, just for sheer affection to the material)
As a prog enthusiast myself, I always had some issues with this group. I have no doubts on their respective technical skills but I couldn't listen to their music as an actual work of art but as the product of "technical onanism". With time, I realized that yes, the self-indulgence is strong, but most of all this group is the passion project of three musical nerds who wanted to have fun playing the classics. This is very obvious in their live "Pictures at an exhibition" and in their late album "Brain salad surgery", which I learnt to appreciate. This one, however, hasn't clicked yet. Like BSS, it doesn't feel like a true album but a great suite and some fillers to reach the 40-minute length. While Karn Evil 9 reamins fun, engaging and coherent during its massive run, this title track suite is a bit messy and pompous, although epic. Some bits are fun, but there isn't a true progression of the movements and I reached the end without a real payoff. (I don't like numeric rating, I just give 3 to anyone)
I don't need to say anything about this album that hasn't been already said. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
I like how they changed their sound on this album, the blues formula of the previous albums was getting stagnant and the folk-blues-hard-rock mix was nailed almost effortlessly. They would do even better with the next albums, but without the ideas they developed on this they would become very boring very soon. Not a fan of the last song, sounds like a delta blues cosplay. Still, "Since I've been loving you" is easily in my top 5 Led Zep songs. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
More cool than interesting. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
The mix of different genres works fine and some of the songs are beautiful (especially at the beginning of the album), but damn did they need to include those useless spoken parts at the end of every song? Absolutely not. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone.)
Maybe I expected a bit too much from this record, since anybody loves it. It didn't click, though. Some songs are good and fun but many others... Oof. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
It is fun, it is wild, it is probably the best thing I've listened by Zappa. Not in love, but I kinda get why people could fall in love with this. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
The perfect music to put in the background of a pirate ship bound to England to kill the king. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
I was expecting a lot of puns in the review section, not disappointed. The album sounds quite dated, it really FEELS like from that era, but it's still fun. Good to listen to while cleaning your house. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
The Doors were an incredible band and they absolutely deserve to be on this list. Just not with this album. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
It sounds like the cheesiest, most annoying kind of 80's music but executed in the best way possible. I think it's kind of a compliment. I can understand the fuss about it. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
This is what a shy guy with autism would put on a party in the 80's. I'm a shy girl with autism in the 2020's and I resonate with this one. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
I always find funny that Americans consider this iteration of Rush as "classic prog", for me (a European) their music was more of an "extremely technical power pop". However, it's very fine "extremely technical power pop". Neil Peart makes you want to drop everything out and learn playing drums like him. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
When I reviewed "Fear of music", I considered that "the first great TH album." This album was released before "Fear of music". Enough said. It's good, some songs are great, but as an album it's still unripe. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
Thisi is truly one of the albums ever. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
What's so outstanding about this album to be on this list? Very generic and dated, the only song that made me feel something different was "Funny vibes". (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
Not as good as the following three albums but a great start, packed with personality and vocal skills. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
Almost at the end of the tacklist, all those "UH" and "COME ON" start to feel too much. Overall this is a blast, those guitars are just so excessive that become genuinely good, a must-listen for every pseudo-anticapitalistic teenager who hates society to the guts (enjoyable even as an adult) (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
This has an immaculate mood, in a normal context I'd have found cringe to be compared to a car (?) but Bolan sells it and I don't know how. Enjoyed every song, some more some less but it's not granted in a LP. (I don't like numeric ratings, I just give 3 to anyone)
