Off The Wall
Michael JacksonIt was alright? Sort of blended together by the end. First two tracks are classics for a reason. The groove throughout was good. Just sort of forgettable to me.

8/10 It’s good! Sounds like classic Bowie. Production and mixing is really good.

I’ve listened to this album countless times. It’s heavy. It’s gritty. It’s weird. I love it.
The palette of sounds and styles drawn from is by far the most interesting thing about this album. I don’t think it’s amazing by any means but a few tracks definitely stood out as classics. It also sounded a lot like modern indie folk which I thought was interesting. I could see Fleet Foxes or Sufjan singing these songs today.
John Paul Jones is a better bassist than Jimmy Page is a guitarist. In all honesty this started strong and dragged on by the end. Production and performances are incredible as expected but it felt too long and it’s only 40 minutes.
Production is dogshit. Performances are excellent. Except for the bass. I’m sure the performance is fine but I can’t hear it so who knows. Probably my second least favorite of 80s Metallica. Still good, but grating to listen to. Every song is way too long even by Metallica standards, paired with the terrible production it makes it almost painful to listen to by the end. 1001 albums and I’ve gotten only ones I’ve known so far. Gimme something weird. I wanna hear something new.
I tried, though not very hard, it’s noisy and weird as expected, but still good, would love to give it another shot.
