1001 Albums Summary

Not really my jam. Lyrics are hilariously bad but I feel like that's the norm for old school hip hop and rap. If I just focus on the backing tracks it's kinda catchy, though.

I can appreciate how impactful this record was in 1988 for the eventual grunge/indie scene, but aside from a few bright spots, it felt a bit uninspired to me. I might need to give it a few more listens before passing judgement, though.

Such a dreamy record! Probably my favourite by Willie.

I like this record a lot, but it suffers from poor pacing. It swings from fast tempo to slow tempo too often and that prevents it from sounding like a cohesive record. Communication Breakdown is an all-time favourite, though.

Brian Wilson is a treasure. This album rules.

Very jammy record. I enjoyed my listen but was kind of something that faded into the background. Probably deserves a second more mindful listen.

Aggressively unpleasant to my ears and mind.

A really fun record that loses a bit of steam for me on the B side. Best enjoyed by the lakeside on a hot Summer day, partaking in your vice(s) of choice. When it's chugging along in all of its 80s glory, it makes you want the good times to keep rolling.
