Pretenders by Pretenders
Oct 07 2023

Safe to say I did not enjoy my time spent listening to this. I felt like the whole time I was listening I was wanting the song to either go somewhere or end and move on to the next. Now none of the songs are objectively bad I just didn’t find myself engaging with any of the material and a lot of the songs dragged on. Shame.

Tommy by The Who
Jun 17 2024

Easily an 8/10 album! Was very interesting from beginning to end and the Overtures and Undertures were epic (albeit the underture being long). Too bad about the child porn thing.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Jun 18 2024

Great album. Starts a tiny bit slow honestly but I was never disinterested. The second half of the album absolutely crushed and then ending had me wanting to throw the record back on! Shame it took me a while to listen to this. 8.7/10

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jun 19 2024

The drums on this album are absolutely incredible. Now take that jazzy sound that this album offers and mix it with the icon swagger of Bowie and you have a pretty solid goodbye project to the industry. Would absolutely listen again! 7.8/10

Jun 20 2024

The drums and bass on this record are immaculate. The “Black excellence” theme got tired around the second half of the project due to the lack of new perspectives. Overall, I enjoyed the listen, wildfires was top tier. 8.2/10

Diamond Life by Sade
Jul 06 2024

This album was super groovy. Definitely not a jazz album but jazz pop fusion with a lot of soul! Smooth Operator is a classic and I was dancing to a lot of the songs on this project. 8.5/10

Sweet Baby James by James Taylor
Jul 07 2024

Romantic and bluesy album. This one was tough because there a couple of really good tracks surrounded by others that lack attention and polish. Overall a fun listen. 6.6/10

Mask by Bauhaus
Jul 08 2024

This album was exceptional. At times it felt like I was attending a prom for vampires. The album oozes with spookiness and really interesting noises for the time it was released! The second half of the album sort of carried but all in all it’s a fantastic project. 8/10

Jul 10 2024

This album is real good. In recent times (2024) this album has received a level of praise I’m not sure I understand. Lauryn does a great job of exploring emotional concepts all while tying all of the album together through a school education lesson. There were times on the album that lulled but overall this is a solid project. 8.2/10

Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Feb 27 2025

Beautiful poetry after beautiful poetry. I don’t know why I had never really checked out Leonard Cohen before today but it was absolutely worth it. The Stranger Song and Teachers were absolutely beautiful compositions of dancing guitars and Leonard’s fantastic story telling.

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Mar 01 2025

Filled with little quick quips of soulful singing over danceable instrumentation. A fun album that treats itself as a reward song after song instead of a chore!
