1001 Albums Summary

This was my first time listening to this album in full and it definitely meanders a lot, especially with some instrumental breaks that feel a little too long for my tastes. It all ends up dispersing the impact of the album somewhat. There are some very high highs in here, however, and lots of great soundscapes. I prefer the heavier tracks overall; that distortion is so crunchy and satisfying. Favourite track: Art of Dying

Listened to it in the car and it made for a great driving soundtrack, but I don’t know that it would have held my attention otherwise. Production objectively very impressive, but aside from a few riffs and runs the writing was a bit uninteresting. Maybe just not for me! Appreciate that it clocked in at 40 minutes tho and not around 2 hours. If you’re going to write 7-minute songs at least be selective. Favourite track: Black Cow
