Nevermind by Nirvana
Oct 07 2023

If you shot me in the head right when lithium needed I’d say I was listening to a pretty perfect album when I died. Album falls off real hard imo starting with Polly, and then something in the way and maybe stay away are the only other notable songs. I think he’s not saying very much, and the power of the instruments (and Kurt’s voice as an instrument) kinda maybe primes people to interpret power in the lyrics, and if they get meaning out of it that’s great! For me though, I lie in the “lyrics sound good but they’re often nonsense or nothing” camp. 5 classics off rip

Assuming this is the originals, this album is a bunch of classics, and the singing, got damn, and the trumpets and the instrumentals, lovely. Then you kind of come to the problem of this not being just Otis Redding, but I digress.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex

I think it’s fine. My largest problem as a generally vocals oriented guy is that I find the vocals sonically uninteresting. There’s some interesting lead guitar, and once in a while there’s some cool rhythm or keys, but generally I would describe it as unique and decent enough to keep me listening but not up to my rotation standards

Horses by Patti Smith

I did not enjoy anything on this album except for the occasional fun guitar lick.
