1001 Albums Summary

I’ve heard this to death. The singles are all great and there’s like 6 of them. There could have been 9. Only one song sucks, unfortunately it’s track 2. Often hilarious, the band can play a great breakdown. Great 90s summer album, and a top tier pop punk record.

The list yields a discovery. Decent album and not what I was expecting from Goldfrapp, but honestly it’s there, I guess, like everything else they made that wasn’t Strict Machine. Pleasant enough, but this list isn’t 1001 albums you didn’t listen to from 2008.

First REM album and first LP I bought classic. Michael Stipe has such a beautiful voice, that to me is the main draw of this band. But they also have a discreet inventive streak that only sounds old hat because they literally influenced everything I heard since. Should ask the boys about them.

One of the best albums ever and it’s influence is now as wide reaching as any in the canon.

Obviously one of the finest records ever made. Perfection every beat.
