Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Oct 19 2023

An exciting beginning; what i'd define as 'classic' rock and roll. The center of the album gets a bit tired, but right before you want to turn it off, when Jagger repeats "monkey man" one too many times, a familiar chorus chimes out a harmony that calms every nerve and sends chills down your spine. "You can't always get what you want, but if you try some times, you'll find, you get what you need." Amen.

Kid A by Radiohead

An eerie album to listen to at 5am, driving down a curvy, quiet valley floor road in the dark; which is when I first sample these albums. After three songs I grew bored. I can imagine how this was revolutionary, new, hip, interesting, difficult to get your head around in a good way, in 2000 when it was released ; before the boom of robot music everywhere. But now this type of music exists... in a -more- interesting way. I'm sure many would criticize me for saying so. I respect their creativity and ambition for creating this type of sound before it was popularized. I respect the platform that they created for electronic/art rock. But I was bored. As my father said 'an acquired taste'.

Is This It by The Strokes
Oct 21 2023

This record starts strong, and ends even stronger. An opening act titled 'Is This It?' gives way to a beep bop of iconic distorted vocals, 90/00's rhythms, and melodic goodness. When I listen to this album I am taken to the basement of Manhattans grungiest; where Casablancas' has repeatedly stated was the local of their best days performing live. I saw The Strokes live in 2022 at Barclays, from the corner of the third level - and could barely hear them. It was fine. We left those seats after two songs and bargained for floor tickets from one of the security guys. We smoked some of the joint kindly offered from the men in front of us (actually, I think I asked them for it) and I'm pretty sure it was laced with something (good) - it was either that or the undeniable euphoria of nostalgia that got me, but I was got. Dancing among brooklynites with a good friend, high off something, and listening to the chord progressions that defined so many moments of my childhood. It was a special night. This is a special album.

Van Halen by Van Halen
Oct 22 2023

The best part of this album, besides the entirety of the song, 'Running With the Devil' is the moment when they take a scat break. When David Lee Roth said 'I am not a musician, I am a circus performer' he validated all of the non-sense sang and intended in these lyrics. Side note; so many jump references too.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell

I actually really like this. Surprisingly pleased. Good job album generator, you are good for this.
