I’ve never been a huge Radiohead person. Maybe because some Radiohead fans annoy me. I’m enjoying this one so far. It feels very “internet indie” in a way I don’t love, but I can get behind the experimental quality of it.
I listened to the hell out of this album my Sophomore or Junior year of highschool. Listening now, it’s solid, but that initial magic is lost. Crazy to think he was 24 or 25 recording this music. This is an iconic album but I don’t like it the way I used to. Maybe I’m tired of it, maybe I’ve mellowed out
I don’t know that I’ve ever listened to this album in full - just “Take Me Out”. I appreciate their impact on indie rock in the 00s, but overall this album isn’t doing it for me.
I’m not crazy about the first half, but the slower second half is awesome. I haven’t checked out much of Nick Cave’s stuff before; this is good.
