1001 Albums Summary

This is his first album? He already sounds like an Elvis impersonator really laying it on thick. The rendition of Blue Moon is nice.

I think there’s a lot to like about this album, but I don’t feel a need to listen to it again. Luxuriating in sad music is for younger people.

I liked the jazzy samples. I understand that people who like this group really like this group, but it’s just not for me.

I was prepared to write this one off, but while we were getting ready to go trick or treating, I found myself singing the chorus to “Mama we’re all crazee now” on repeat in my head. So, 2 stars for that.

I listened through Peter Gabriel’s solo output this year & found a lot that I really liked. His work with Genesis here is so different. Strange, because post-Genesis Peter Gabriel can make shorter, catchy songs and post-Peter Gabriel Genesis can make shorter, catchy songs. Just not here.
