1001 Albums Summary

It's an album of peaks and valleys, I think. Great start, meanders in the middle, and ends with the two best tracks on the album. I might be biased but that makes a solid 7/10 to me.

I have never listened to Black Sabbath previous to this so forgive me for the comparison but this album feels like a college band who wants to be Black Sabbath. It's good, don't get me wrong. It's just not that memorable. 6/10

The album is good until John Lennon opens his mouth. 5/10

The instrumentation is a little bit all over the place in quality but that's not what people are here for - we're here for Joplin and her fantastic blues singing. Really wish she was able to make more than she did. 7/10

If I listen to this album like three more times, it'll be one of my favorite albums. For now, it'll have to stay a beautiful rock album. 8/10

7/10 but there are parts here that can push it over to an 8. Could’ve liked more of those spikes but it’s a solid album overall.
