At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Nov 03 2023

I don’t love country. BUT this makes me think about my family history. I think I remember my mom saying that her parents listened to a lot of Johnny Cash. So it makes me think of them and the past. This album came out in 1969, when my parents were 4. Crazy. - I like I Walk The Line - The songs are nice and short 😂 - Darlin’ Companion is cute when his wife June Carter joins him - since it’s a live album, all of his commentary and the crowd etc is cool. A lot of commentary. He has an amazing voice even just speaking. So deep and rich. - I do see some of the common roots of country and blues. Some of the bass lines and tunes are quite bluesy - very interesting. I don’t know that I need to listen again, but I’m glad I did one.
