good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Nov 14 2023

Listened to this one plenty of times, my favourite Kendrick album and I think his best. Make sure M.a.a.d city is played on a subwoofer, the 808s are impossible to hear on normal speakers It's well written, even though he uses a lot of voice manipulation it doesn't feel too goofy, the beats are sick, the stories are honest; all in all a fantastic album. The features a great too, maybe not as much Mary Blige on now or never, but the rest are great. GOATed album

The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips
Nov 17 2023

A fantastic album start to finish. It feels refreshing having music that sounds like it's played by humans, with slight errors in timing, pitch and the instruments, particularly the piano, sound old and used. It feels like each song has haphazard layers on top of each other but through the chaos of reverbing vocals, drums that come in seemingly randomly with loud, heavy mixing and orchestral strings every now and then, it just works. And the subject matter can just be about anything, with songs like buggin and spiderbite. Then there are moments where something just clicks and changes, a key change or addition of the strings, and it switches to something beautiful like sleeping in the roof, reminiscent of some Syd Barrett era pink Floyd stuff. Loved it

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Nov 22 2023

Straight up one of the best albums ever by songwriting and singing ability Gone too soon RIP Shame about corpus Christi carol being a bit slower and not really the same calibre to the others but still, there's no one like him and I doubt there will be.

Isn't Anything by My Bloody Valentine
Jan 14 2026

Horrible listen Trying to hard to be shit, not as good as actual shit bands like the Shaggs I can understand why people liked it in the 80s and 90s, but those people are idiots and losers who have no self expression and just wanted to fit in

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Jan 16 2026

I guess given the time it would have been a newish sound but listening to it now, it's a bit dull. A couple of good songs but overall forgettable.

Machine Head by Deep Purple

Lots of fun, classic feel. A bit cheesy at times but great

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
