Nevermind by Nirvana
Nov 30 2023

Easily a 4/5. Dave Grohl on drums gets it an additional point alone, but there's some cool genre switching in here along with a couple of dark concept songs. Totally forgot how much of an absolute banger Lithium is. Near perfect.

Who's Next by The Who
Dec 01 2023

I too, am an air conditioned gypsy.

The Band by The Band
Dec 04 2023

Kind of fun! Liked the motown/honky tonk vibe to it. It didn't hold my full attention and I found it mildly enjoyable rather than a proper set of anthems

Dummy by Portishead
Dec 06 2023

Very cool. It sounded cool. I'd put this on if I owned a record shop and had to run inventory while opening the store and warming up the espresso machine. Enjoyable, but mainly for the vibes.

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Dec 07 2023

Too happy? I mean I know this must be incredible when performed live but I just... didn't vibe with it at all.

Tarkus by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Dec 08 2023

Not a fan of the keyboard solos

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Dec 12 2023

A total vibe. Slightly-samey but it's cool hearing a bit of a melding of late-Nirvana and early-Foos. You can hear him slowly stepping away from the grunge-steeped 90s into full on 2000's American rock

Fragile by Yes
Dec 14 2023

Ok, it's very good. Like The Who but way more psychedelic and interesting. The actual musicality is great, but as a preference, since playing piano, guitar and bass for a bunch of years, I've weirdly grown to hate keyboard solos, open chords on electroacoustic guitars and slap bass. This has all of those things in abundance - even which the literal perfect levels of distortion and cool as fuck opening track. So while I want to give it more stars, I physically cannot.
