Not for me.
Great Afro-beat album that marked Fela's breakout in both West African popular music and Nigerian politics. This album also showcases drummer Tony Allen's talent. Wish the album were longer.
Such a great rock album — three R&B covers, and the rest Townshend originals. Being of a certain age (heard "My Generation" the single played on AM radio when it first came out), this really takes me back to a different time, with all four Who members alive and young, and on this album, foreshadowing greater things to come, plus Nicky Hopkins (the fifth Who member, as it were) throughout, as well as a 21-year-old Jimmy Paige on one track. In some sense, this album marks the birth of "hard rock."
This is supposed to be a landmark post-punk album. For me, it's just okay.
Good funk/psychedelic soul album. Includes the hit, "Family Affair." Sound quality is notably bad.
I didn't like this album much when I first heard it in 1967, and I don't like it much now. The band plays out of tune throughout. Sound quality is mediocre at best. Nico's singing? Meh.
