Stevie Wonder
I can't believe I never listened to this before. I also cannot believe that the sunshine of my life has more streams than superstition.
you've got it bad girl - kind of interesting mixing choices. also i kind of don't like this song. it's annoying.
maybe your baby - sounds a little rockish
big brother - I gotta say the political lyrics don't really match the jam band feeling of the song.
good to see superstition is still a banger
The deep cuts aren't that great. it sounds like stevie wonder which sounds like everything.

good but got a serious case of the deathbed production. The modern production sounds so bad. I hate it..

the piano sound on you sent me flying is driving me up the wall. so annoying and it just repeats and doesn't ever change.
So far the production is legit so terrible I cannot understand.
Fuck me pumps is stupid
this production is unreal. it's mixed so badly its really fucked up. why is the guitar so loud on I heard love is blind.
She sounds high out of her mind, it's an aesthetic i guess. It just doesn't feel particularly coherent.
Why is that stick so loud. it sounds like. gunshot going of. Moody's mood for love seriously. what the fuck. okay now i get why jazz voice people love her.
There is no greater love, this is the first one I get. I just wish that the session musicians were better, they don't deserve her. They don't support right. She deserves so much better than a midi keyboard and a guitar strumming the same pattern on repeat. I love the audio effects though. They work but you can find middle ground with the mucisians though. They don't need to take up so much space that you can't play with the sound but still be doing more than they are as of right now.
in my bed is too loud, they should put her higher and the backgrounds lower.
take the box, this one is fire

Highway patrol and state trooper back to back, well I can tell what’s going on here.
I think I understand why Obama is so into this.
It’s kind of a vibe, like this better than the American flag one .
Damn lyrics straight fire if you’re in the mood.

Lou Reed
Vicious: another song about an evil girl. "I step on your hand and I mangle your feet?" I like the guitar solo at the end very wacky.
Andy's Chest: what's an ocelot? i don't understand anything.
Perfect Day: Why does this sound so sad? I've heard this before. Also, this sounds like a bill withers song. His voice sounds amazing here. damn this is depressing. really hard to place this genre wise so far.
Hangin' 'Round: a nice song about terrible friends. don't get the 4th verse.
Walk On the Wild Side: I think I've heard this one too. Colored girls? I don't understand. is he calling out how background singers are always black? nice little mixing trick there. a sax solo, nice.
Make Up: little girl? out of our closets? is this an anti-makeup song? because fuck that shit. you're just jealous. we're coming out?
Satellite of Love: ironic right?
Wagon Wheel: kick her in the head and rearrange her? I like the fade-out in the middle. It's cool. Production is pretty inventive at certain parts.
New York Telephone Conversation: damn intense. maybe a bit of a lack of coherency in the record
I'm so free: I can't tell if this is ironic or not. if not then this hasn't aged very well.
Good Night Ladies: the bass sound is hilarious. clarinet solo is nice. I love his vocal delivery. it's really descriptive. weird early jazz impression but okay. this might actually be the best song on the album.
this is an old album and unfortunately for this album i am too young to understand many of these references. it's not bad, but it's very much of its time, not musically but definitely lyrically.

oh damn,
papercut: this is commical. the face inside is right beneath the skin. eminem meets pop-punk. lmao.
One Step Closer: he's about to break guys, better watch out. omg a way to dissapear. this is teenage bullshit alright. emo damn. this is definetley the right music to be listening to while reading disaster capitalism
with you: what the hell is that screaching noise. this is giving stalker. its giving bella in that one scene in twilight where she stares out the window, but for boys. lmao this is genderswapped twilight. see guys this is what happens when we don't let men express their emotions.
points of authority: the record scratches are a bit much. this is the catchiest one ill give it that.
Crawling: again this is what happens when we don't let men express their emotions in a normal way. although I guess my criticism is itself hypocritical because I shouldn't judge when they do actually express emotion. feel bad for this guy. but this is def not my music. I cannot take this seriously, it's just too overwrought.
Runaway: why is this album on the list honestly? I guess this is their seminal work and it was a big trend at the time but still; it kind of sucks. "I want to shut the door and open up my mind?"
By Myself: this is so tortured but not in a good way. I imagine this record is only being played in a truck. not a sedan or a suv, only a truck. it's that kind of insecurity. You can hear the kurt influence really strong. it's like eminem meets nirvana but then bad and super not self aware at all. it's also really self-centered. maybe that's your problem dude, you're really worried about your own problems. I don't think there is a single other person but the suposedly female love interest who doesn't have a single expression or opinion of her own.
In the End: this is the most listened-to song on the album, this has a billion plays. this is the best song on the album.
A Place for My Head: this is a very year 2000 album. bruh does this man have single positive emotion ever?
Forgotten: wait the song changed I didn't even notice that. Straight up it literally sounded like the same song. defintely should be forgotten.
Cure for the Itch: Bruh I hate this intro already. How does this thing not over yet. I'm really annoyed. I was laughing before but now I'm tired. of course an interlude track right at the end, just what I wanted.... :(
Pushing Me Away: bruh the overwhelming self-pity is just too much, I don't want to listen to this anymore. I really hope this is the last one. the sacrifice is me listening to this goddamm album for a second time. I confused this with the systems of a down album that I listened to the same day the last time I listened to this. But this really fucking sucks too. Lik yeah the toxicity whatever bullshit was worse but this is really bad.

Tommy
The Who
Am Supposed to listen to the Super Deluxe version?
Overture: what are those horns? The trombone is not doing it for me. It sounds comical. but i could come around I think. Pretty well produced so far. High production value. I take it these guys are british? I honestly don't know much about them. the horn near the end has defintley been manipultaed. damn that gong went on for a long time. He's being born?
It's a boy: weird to cut this in half? seems like an extension of the last song.
1921: this is a origin story. gasslighting a little boy?
Amazing Journey: wow nice vibe change. I kind of like this. Can't quite understand the concept just yet but I don't hate.
Sparks: i love the unhinged guitar. cool. a little bit experimental.
Eyesight to the blind: smh omg. daddy what? of course we have to leave the concept to objectify a woman. oh she can heal you too? le sigh gotta have that one guaranteed hit i guess.
Christmas: a christmas song in the middle of the album. Whut... i guess it could go with the concept of youth. tommy? I like this. this is good shit. heaven's generousity a dream. damnn
Cousin Kevin: the key changes are weird. Damn this is dark. kids are bitches sometimes i'll give them. this is straight fire. that chorus was fireeeeee... this might go on my favorites. this is good.
The Acid Queen: another evil woman right? kind of weird to sing from the woman's perspective: a little transversive you might even say. but it's still another song about an evil woman. so fucking boring. just give me one night? what the fuck. I really don't like this song, this is fucked up and not in the good way.
Underture: like overture but under? alright... something better justify this 10 minute long track. other than just vibes. yeah this is def the end of this side of the LP. but also this is going on way too long. smh.
Do you think it's alright?: so he's a teenager now? okay I get it. I'm not sure when it happened but it's def happened.
Fiddle About: what the fuck??????? excuse me???? what the fuck??? omg what the fuck??????? damnnn okay... jesus christ
Pinball Wizard: omg I cannot imagine where it will go next. this is the most listened to song on spotify from this album. this is very chilling after the last one. I don't know what to think about this? why do people like this? it doesn't really stand out to me. okay... seems random as all hell.
There's a Doctor: okay so he needs fixing now?
Go to the Mirror!: so now he's adopting the deaf dumb and blind persona? the doctor doesn't know what to do either. wait so is he the deaf dumb and blind person in the pinball story. He feels completely isolated from the world around him? wait so he's cured now? there is a perspective change in this one?
Tommy can you hear me?: damm this is one long album. sooo he's not cured. ooo i like the ending. that's cool.
Smash the mirror: I don't understand the relationship between the narrator and tommy? are they the same person? this is a good track though.
Sensation: wait is this about drugs? it's probably drugs, this makes sense. drugs awaken him.. got it. def drugs.
Miracle cure: he's cured got it.
Sally Simpson: destiny intense. so sally is trying to seduce tommy? this says america too though. damn that's rough for sally. Tommy is a preacher now? he's in a uniform now too. This is a great song too by the way. I'm rivited. no not drugs: God? damn that mom is harsh. whoof... straight fire song though.
I'm Free: so is he the messiah or not? I'm not sure I'm completely following the plot. but this is still fire.
Welcome: so now he's inviting people into his world? I'm not sure. I like the switch up in the middle. he's spreading the gospel that's for sure
Tommy's holiday camp: this is camp.
We're not Gonna Take It: so def god and not drugs. take what? damnnn. this is real dark. this is great stuff. def god.
I'm going to have to listen to this again. I didn't get all of it for sure. the instrumentals are not the most interesting but they definitely still add something. Not perfect but still great.
Worst track: eyesight to the blind
best track: Sally Simpson

This Is Fats Domino
Fats Domino
Starting off the new year strong:
Blueberry Hill: where is blueberry hill? blues, mid sized bands. Has horns. this would be considered R&B probably. His voice is very unique, especially his vibrato. You can hear that he's influenced a lot of rock vocalists. 12 Bar blues I think. Pretty short.
Honey Chile: only you can fill me like you do? that's some innuendo but kinda queer. I cannot hear the piano at all. the breaks are kind fun. this is not like anything I've heard before. sax solo not exactly burning but very fun nonetheless. That's how I would describe this whole thing. Pigeon toes is innuendo for sure.
What's the reason I'm Not Pleasing you: a little bit more uptempo than the others. innuendo but also played straight. another sax solo but this is mixed lower. I think the comping rhythm is a trip, it's so weird. actually, the whole shuffle is fucking wack. the piano comping is crazy. It's not swinging is it?
Blue Monday: Classic. the piano comping again though. Kind of inspired the paul mccartney song. must have. the master is a bit too loud. that sax solo is wack. what the fuck. damn that's gotta be the weirdest sax solo I've heard in a while. they burning now. the piano the whole time. he must have really strong hands because damn.
So Long: Where is he from he has quite and accent. the mix is really weird on this recording. I feel like I can only really him and the bass is dead. the backbeat is real strong. That feels like the biggest difference between this and like jazz shit. also it's all blueses. the longest solo, classic outro.
La La: a the classic scat head. the horn lines are also classic. oh he's taking a piano solo. damn he's burning. straight fire. damn that's also unlike anything i've heard before. His voice is great. Feels almost hypnotic.
Troubles of My Own: classic my life is shit blues. oh this is a nice one. more laid back than the last one but I like the head better. still with that piano comping though. again the bass is really low. sax solo in the middle.
You Done Me Wrong: damn that fade in is strong. the mixing is wack. nice call and response the start of. is that a harmonica. or a accordian? damn weird instrumentation. I love the call and response. It's nice. I bet it was really fun live.
Reeling and Rocking: He sounds completely different. This must be later. Slow but deadly fuck. the drum fills though. guitar guitar alert. that's a precense. again with the call and response but acapella this time. those breaks are classic. the guitar really makes it sound like R&B. nice outro too. they arranging a bit more on this one. oo that guitar.
The Fat Man's Hop: now that's a blues riff if i've ever heard one. the horns bussing. oo his pulling out some blue fills on the piano. he's way more present here than the other recordings. this is the piano song. the guitar is still here. ooo he can burn. the drums are also pulling out some more different sounds. They must feel more comfortable with the recording process.
Poor, Poor Me: The horns have their parts down. two horns soloing at the same time. that's crazy. they sound good together though. straight chaos but in the best way. the drums at the end though.
Trust in Me: this is the most rocking. you can see the direct transition to rock here. it sounds like elvis. But so much better. the horns are great. the guitar solo is wack. sounds like his piano solo. damn that is crazy. wow he's really out there. the horns still going over the solo is a nice tough. again another two horn solo. reminisent of early jazz. but they burning. one's laying it down the other is playing around. the bass is walking. the piano idk, i think it's just his regular comping. the horns at the end.
Damm what an album to start the year off with.

Shake Your Money Maker
The Black Crowes
Twice as Hard: I've never heard of this band before. a pre-Nirvana rock album from the 90s, interesting. it sounds very rock. this is a boring song
Jealous Again: weird ass piano solo but okay. wow hate the message of this song too. the piano is confusing me.
Sister Luck: oh yeah the self-pity anthem for the ages. slef harm?
Could I've Been So Blind: tryin hard as nails? I don't understand why this is on the list? Does this capture an era or an ethos or something because I'm not getting it. was listening to lingua ignota yesterday and I miss that.
Seeing things: oh a ballad great, just what I wanted. this is the first thing that feels distictly 80s. I assume this was one of the bands that was blasted to bits by the nuclear bomb that was nevermind. oh have sex with me because it hurts to be alone . >:( background singers are a nice touch I'll give it that. the piano is still confusing the hell out of me. the production isn't bad but just confusing. this is a weird as hell track.
Hard to Handle: the hit. what the fuck? this is wack. that hook is crazy. also does not sound like 1990, like at all. what the fuck. sounds like he's talking with a cottonball in his mouth. of course a dime a dozen guitar solo in the
middle. this sounds like a time capsule to a time that doesn't exist.
Thick N'Thin: what the hell was that sound? that some country ass beat right there. that piano again. I swear to god what is it doing on this record I do not understand. Someone please explain. is it me or is this a song about nothing?
She Talks to Angels: Supernatural anyone. also another ballad greeeeaaaaattttt. this has the second most streams on spotify. ah a sad girl anthem. lets see how this plays out. but that means everything? WTF?????????????????? idk i don't understand. someone explain. something about the tone tells me this is a bad song but I can't quite put my finger on it.
Struttin' Blues: ah another blues. withdrawl song? a key change? whaaaaaaat. they bring energy I'll give em that. I think if I was in the right mood I could enjoy this. but it's pretty meatheaded.
Stare It Cold: another drug song def. I do think this is the most interesting material on the album.
this is a weird fucking album time capsule from 1990, honestly hard to believe. I don't understand what's so important about this album. but okay.

Speed Trials: I have no idea what's going on but I like it. I really like his singing style.
Alameda: I like this one. damn sad though. serious sad
Ballad of Big Nothing: what a title Already. it's good too
Between the Bars: I'm still not sure who he's singing to. sad but lowkey kind of romantic.
Pictures of Me: I'm not sure about this one. I get it but also shut up. you know.
No Name number 5: your name on my cast (*side eye*) this might cross into too much sad boi
Rose Parade: This might my favorite so far altough I'm still not in love
Punch and Judy: I gotta say the production on the whole thing has been really good and consistent too.
Angeles: I think I might be too tired to understand this one
Cupid's Trick: whut...
