We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Dec 24 2023

I like that it was dance music and upbeat with great messages to get my spirit up for the day. You truly can’t go wrong with disco. However all the songs kind of blurred together cause they sound so similar. I would rather listen to bee gees if I’m gonna dance to disco!

Soulful and Groovy I loved almost every the song on this album. He put his whole heart and soul into each song. I really loved his version of respect which is the original. I think I may like it more than Aretha Franklin’s but I don’t know its a close call. Change gonna come has a beautiful message of hope for equality between races. The song was originally written and performed by Sam Cooke in 1964. This was a time when the Jim Crows laws were still in place. I agree Sam it has been a long time coming! A year later in 1965 the jim crow laws would finally go away which was another huge step towards the goal of racial equality. Ottis did a great job at both performing his own songs and covers of others like My girl by the temptations and Satisfaction (I can’t no) by the rolling stones. The 60s was arguably the best and most influential decade for music and Ottis did a good job at displaying that in his album.

I like all the artists soulful renditions of classic christmas songs. They really turned simple Christmas songs into something special that isn’t boring. I find myself only listening to christmas songs during December but tracks like sleigh ride are enjoyable to listen to all year

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Dec 27 2023

I liked how wacky the songs all sounded. I like weird shit, I will listen to the songs if they play while I shuffle my library. However, I found many of the songs to be repetitive but they were all mostly different from one another so there's that. I liked Blue Orchid, forever for her(is over for me), As ugly as I seem. Instinct Blues was very funny and a bop.

Live! by Fela Kuti
Dec 28 2023

It was great music to listen to while cleaning the house. It wasn’t too stimulating so I was able to really focus on my tasks. Its the kind of music you can just chill out too and slowly drift off to sleep. The music is mostly instrumental which is generally not my cup of tea since I’m a singer. I also found it hard to dance to so despite it sounding very impressive I’m gonna have to give a rating based on my own enjoyment.

Violator by Depeche Mode
Dec 30 2023

I have always loved the their huge hit “Personal Jesus” from this album! I had no idea how much I was missing by not listening to rest of the album. The album gives off the vibes of the 80s but the use of synths makes it sound more futuristic. Definitely the best album Ive heard from this generator so far!
