1001 Albums Summary

giving it a three because I can’t be bothered to listen to the whole thing (I will be better I just want to get this one out of the way to see if it lets me rate the next one). didn’t particularly enjoy ‘the suburbs’ as an opening track, something about that 2010’s jangly keyboard does not appeal to me and I don’t particularly like their vocal style… take a shot every time this man says ‘the kids’ there’s something so corny about that to me and I don’t think the lyricism is that good, but again I can’t judge much because I didn’t listen to the whole thing 👎🏻 pace and feel of ‘ready to start’ and ‘empty room’ was a bit more for me but I still feel like it fell a bit flat. sorry arcade fire I’m sure you’re great and defo one of those albums where if I grew up on it I’d love it but it just didn’t jump out to me

one of those classic rock albums that you just have to like, many songs added to the summer mix. something for everyone - more romantic sounding slow stuff like New Kid in Town to songs like Life in the Fast Lane and Victim of Love that are just classic 70’s rock chunes. also points for some beautiful piano. exactly what I expected from the little Eagles stuff I already knew. not an every day listen pour moi but objectively musically great
