1001 Albums Summary

I was given this album as a birthday present when it first came out. At that time I never listened to the entire album, only the hits. After now listening to all four sides I can tell I didn’t miss much.

Always wanted to listen to a Taylor Swift album. This was the one that brought her pop superstardom. Fine work all around. Maybe I’ll become a Swiftie.

George had a backlog of material to get out due to his former band mates not allowing more than a couple of songs on their albums. Generally, fine throughout although some of the extended jams could have been pared back a bit.

More sultry and R&B influenced than I anticipated. Nice phrasing and arrangements in this pop classic.

Not my cup of tea, but I appreciate the aural collage--soundscape--this album is and am glad I listened to it. Will listen to this again and other PE albums, so I bumped it up a star for introducing me to one of the classics of hip hop.

Been a fan of Jimi’s for decades, so this is a must-listen.

Great acoustic set. Passionate, heartfelt songs.

Good musicianship, nice groove. I just have a problem with songs I can’t sing along with or know what they are saying.
