Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jan 08 2024

I really dig this album! It immediately reminded me of summer and I actually can't wait to listen to it then. I love the bluesy feel which you can tell they were inspired by. At first I was bothered with how long the songs were but the more I listen to this album I find myself okay with it! I feel like I'm listening to a story going back and forth between the singer and guitarist (not sure if it's the same person).

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Jan 10 2024

Gave this album a fair listen but nothing really does it for me. I love a good instrumental/beat album but nothing really stood out to me... I will give props where they are due though because DJ Shadows ability to mix, sample and produce a track are top notch.

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Jan 11 2024

Super familiar with The Police especially Message in a Bottle. Listening to it on this album though I'm realizing its actually kind of a meh song. I think there are a lot of other better songs on this album so it's interesting to see Message in a Bottle be one of their popular ones. That aside, I think the album is OK. I see the importance it plays mixing Reggae but that's about it. Walking on the Moon is the stand out for me.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Jan 12 2024

I tried to give this a listen but I really couldn't make it past the first few songs. I've never been a Beatles fan and this definitely didn't change that. The vocals sound too whiney for me to listen and I don't enjoy the composition of the songs either.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Jan 15 2024

I'm in love with this album, this is exactly the type of music I thought would be on the list. The vocals are astounding and moving. Adding back up singers to each song is such a nice touch and really stands out. The title of the album is spot on, it's rock n roll, it's soulful and its beautiful.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Jan 16 2024

Not a bad album, I think there is a lot more to be desired and I'm not the hugest fan of Morissey but overall it was okay! It does have a nostalgia factor for me as it reminds me of the time I lived in New England.

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Jan 18 2024

This was a interesting listen at 6 in the morning haha. I really dig Basies ability to go from soft and smooth to upbeat and a bit more chaotic. The songs that are more upbeat I'm unsure if I like those or not. After Supper is definitely more my vibe and one of the stand outs for me.

The Coral by The Coral
Jan 19 2024

This was ok. Not a big fan, I've listened to a few psychedelic albums here and there but it's hit and miss for me.

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Jan 22 2024

Their sampling is outstanding and I could listen to the instrumentals if they offered those on an album forever. I'm not a fan of their lyrics or their voices. They are a little grating and the lyrics sound cheesy.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Jan 23 2024

I love the instrumentation but the vocals kind of kill it for me. There's a disconnect and I find myself hard to enjoy this.
